Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a PV plant?

A PV plant is a system made up of several cooperating components. In short, such a system converts solar energy into electrical energy, which you then use in your sockets, store in batteries, etc.

What does it mean that we arrange everything turnkey?

We provide our customers with a comprehensive service, which means the customer does not have to worry about anything and we also guarantee obtaining the subsidy. Together with the contract, our customers receive powers of attorney, forms and other necessary documents that need to be signed so that we can carry out the necessary steps for the construction itself on their behalf.

Why should I get photovoltaics?

With your own photovoltaics on your residential building, you gain a source that will produce electricity from solar radiation for all the residential units in your building, and in addition you become self-sufficient and independent of the electricity distributor. As a bonus, the PV plant brings you the effect of savings on electricity costs and you also become environmentally responsible towards your surroundings.

Is it true that the panels cannot be recycled?

Solar panels consist of more than 90 % glass and an aluminium frame. Both of these materials are commonly recyclable, as are other metal elements, so disposing of most solar panels will be a profitable matter for you.

Is there a fire risk with a PV plant?

If your installation company knows what it is doing and follows all safety measures, you need not fear any spontaneous ignition.

Is it true that firefighters refuse to extinguish a burning PV plant?

Rumours circulate among people that if a photovoltaic power plant catches fire, firefighters will not extinguish it because it is a live electrical device. They supposedly also have no regulations for it. This is not true! Firefighters have directives for extinguishing PV plants under the Operating Rules of fire protection units. This methodological sheet is numbered 48 P and was issued back in 2017. Tactical intervention procedures for PV plants therefore exist!

Is a building permit or an energy licence required?

Installing a PV plant for residential buildings does not require a building permit or special energy licences.

Is it true that not all buildings will get permission to connect to the distribution grid?

The capacity of the distribution grid is not infinite and due to the ever-growing demand for PV installations, connecting to the distribution grid will become a bigger and bigger problem over time, which is why we recommend not waiting!

What kind of roof can PV panels be mounted on?

Panels can be installed on all types of roofs, i.e. both pitched and flat. A limit may be posed by roofing materials; we do not mount panels on roofing made of fibre-cement shingles (e.g. eternit, cembrit, …), which "like" to crack.

What is the lifespan of a photovoltaic power plant?

The lifespan of the system is very long. Photovoltaics consist of several different components that have different warranty or lifespan periods. Photovoltaic panels have a 25 year performance warranty, with a lifespan of around 30–35 years. Thanks to a sophisticated control system, the batteries will last you at least 16 years.

What is the return on investment in a photovoltaic power plant?

The return on investment is very individual. A large number of factors enter into the payback calculation that affect it, especially the price of energy, subsidies or the chosen variant of storing unused energy. However, for a better idea of the specific price of a suitable solution directly for you, fill in the form and we will get back to you. Generally it can be said that the payback period of photovoltaics is usually between 5-7 years (depending on the amount of the subsidy).

Is it true that hail can destroy the panels?

Solar panels must meet a number of demanding criteria that are subject to testing. Solar panels are tested and certified to withstand hail 30 millimetres in diameter, flying at a speed of 23 m/s (about 83 km/h). These are values that most hailstorms do not even come close to reaching.

What is the payback of a PV plant?

Model situation for one stairwell: with an installed capacity of 20.25 kWp and 20 kWh of storage, the price ranges between CZK 1,550,000 and CZK 1,600,000. The amount of the subsidy depends on the number of residential units, the battery volume and the PV plant's output. When implemented on a residential building, the subsidy can reach up to CZK 685,000. So the total price is between CZK 865,000 and CZK 910,000. At current energy prices, that means a payback within 6 years. After that you simply earn.

Can a PV plant on a residential building damage the roof?

Don't worry about the roof collapsing because of the panels. Firstly, modern panels and the whole equipment are increasingly lighter, and secondly, we must follow the given directives during installation. An expert assessment of the load capacity and strength of the roof is carried out before installation. Correct installation is decisive! The roof degrades most due to the sun; however, thanks to the panels, less sun shines on the roof itself. This gives the roof a longer lifespan.

Do I have to take care of anything after the PV plant is installed?

No one in your residential building has to take care of anything, because post-installation care and service is a matter of course on our part!

Is it true that PV plants keep getting more expensive?

Due to the widespread PV trend, the prices themselves keep rising; this is also one of the factors why it does not pay off to wait any longer!

How to proceed if you are interested in a PV plant for your residential building?

1. Filling in the contact form

After you fill in the contact form, we will contact you within 48 hours at the latest.

2. Free inspection of the residential building

After a phone consultation and clarifying all the circumstances, one of our trained sales representatives comes to you free of charge, inspecting the roof and the common areas themselves to make sure everything is in order for a possible installation. (All in the presence of the chairperson of the homeowners' association).

3. Sending a price quote

Based on the information from the personal meeting directly at the residential building, we prepare a price calculation for your property.

4. Convening a meeting of the housing cooperative/vote

Here it is decided whether the homeowners' association approves a PV plant on its part of the residential building.

5. Signing the contract

If the vote for a PV plant on your residential building is positive, we usually prepare the contract itself for signing within 5 business days.

6. Payment of the deposit according to the contractual instructions

7. The project implementation itself

From this moment on, your power plant is working.

8. Final payment of the order

9. Subsidy and remaining administration

We process the subsidy application and ensure its payout.
